Drunk Truck Drivers Cause Massive Damage

A costly crash occurred recently which highlights the danger to people and property that trucks can cause and the even more importantly the danger of a truck driven by a drunk driver. A truck driver has been accused of driving a tanker while drunk and causing destruction to property as a consequence. The 33 year old man from NSW will appear in court next month for the incident. The truckie driving a 10 tonne water tanker mounted a footpath and hit into a tree. Thankfully no pedestrians were on the footpath or they would have been killed. The driver did not stop there however, he proceeded down the footpath before he reversed into a power pole and then mounted a gutter thereafter crashing into a house fence nearby. The driver attempted to flee the scene but police tracked him down and when they tested him for alcohol he showed a reading on 0.316. The damage will amount into the thousands of dollars and the truck driver’s behaviour can be described as nothing more than careless and irresponsible. It is only a consolation that no one was injured or killed by the incident.
