Two days prior to International Women’s Day the Queensland Trucking Association (QTA) will be holding a breakfast to celebrate the achievements of women within the trucking industry.

March 6th is the date of the breakfast and the QTA has a line up of speakers to present at the event.

There will be a panel featuring speakers:

  • Transpacific Industries CEO Kevin Campbell
  • Daryl Dickenson Transport Partner
  • Tracie Dickenson, DP World Human Resources Advisor
  • Nicole Holyer, All Purpose Transport General Manager
  • Paul Kahlert
  • Emberin Managing Director Louise Perram-Fisk

Peter Garske the QTA CEO said that the panel will talk about the fact that women have made considerable efforts within the trucking industry and that the industry is becoming increasingly diverse.

He described the panel as a group of “industry champions who are leading the way with gender inclusion, diversity initiatives and workforce development in the industry,”

Mr Garske said that this is the second year that the breakfast has been held and it is designed to recognise the noteworthy role that women play in the logistics and transport industry.

He said that women who are highly skilled fill many roles in the trucking industry like forklift operators, administrative staff and managing directors.

Kevin Campbell, the Transpacific Industries CEO, said that he felt by supporting this event it is a way it not only celebrates the achievements of women within the road transport industry but also is a way of encouraging more women to pick the industry as a valid career choice.

He said that men have traditionally dominated the industry but at Transpacific they have a commitment to encouraging women to work with them and provide support to help women excel with their careers.

The event will be held at the Brisbane Golf Club.
