Sydney Harbour Bridge Spill Gets Fleet Inspected

The company responsible for the truck that spilled dirt across the Sydney Harbour Bridge has had its entire heavy vehicle fleet inspected by RMS.

The company  issued an apology for the incident which resulted in lanes on the bridge being closed in both directions.

The incident happened on January 22nd, when the rear trailer of a truck became unlatched an left a trail 3km long of landfill. Lanes were closed and traffic was delayed for more than 3 hours.

The truck driver was issued a notice to attend court next month. He was unaware that his vehicle was spilling landfill until pulled over by police.

RMS inspected 55 trucks and trailers belonging to the company, a well known excavation and civil works firm.
