Hefty Fines Issued Following Tanker Rollover

A rollover that happened last year on the Golden Highway, west of Jerry Plains led to an investigation by the New South Wales Environment Protection Authority (EPA).

The investigation led to a transporter and consignor being penalised over the  use of the wrong type of tanker trailers.

Multiple fines to the value of $48,000 were issued after the investigation revealed that dangerous goods were being carried in the tanker which were not up to standard.

The tankers were suitable to transport liquid fuel and not ammonium nitrate emulsion, which the company was transporting at the time of  the rollover.
