Trucks drivers and other road users who make use of the Bruce Highway will be pleased to hear that a section of the highway being upgraded has been completed, and its six months ahead of schedule.

The Boundary Road Interchange opening was welcomed by ministers Darren Chester and Steven Mills as well as federal member for Petrie Luke Howarth, and member for Murrumba Chris Whiting.

The $100.4million upgrade will benefit Bruce Highway road-users and according to Minister Chester, the project is proof of the federal government’s investment in infrastructure improving and saving lives at the grassroots level by helping people get to where they need to go faster and more safely.

He also complimented the fact that the project was completed six months ahead of schedule.

Part of the upgrade includes a new bridge, six lanes wide over the highway, which will ease congestion. It also includes longer on and off-ramps which is safer for motorists entering and exiting the highway. Another feature of the upgrade is the higher bridge clearance, so high loads will no longer to need to take longer detours on other roads.
