Truck Driver Arrested After Driving with Disqualified Licence and Speeding

A heavy vehicle driver was recently arrested for driving while high on methamphetamine and tampering with the vehicle’s speed limiter.

The truck was stopped by police from The Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Section along the Princes Highway recently when the man was charged with driving while disqualified, failure to carry a work diary and possessing a speed limiter override device which allowed the truck to exceed 100km per hour.

The 25 year old driver will appear in court next month. He may also face charges of drug driving.
