WA Welcomes Road Upgrade Plans

Good news for Western Australian road users, the federal government’s 2018-19 budget allocates $3.2 billion to Western Australian infrastructure projects. The funding allocation of $560,000 from federal government to complete the Bunbury project was welcomed by WA Transport Minister Rita Saffioti. The minister highlighted that these improvements would allow for better access for freight to the Bunbury Port and would facilitate the expansion of industrial centres. The residents of Bunbury would also benefit by seeing less heavy vehicle traffic on their local roads and would benefit from job opportunities created. There are a number of other WA infrastructure projects that will be able to be completed due to the funding including the construction of the remaining stages from the South Western Highway to the Russell Highway and from Perth-Bunbury Highway to the Picton Boyanup Road vicinity.
