Uber Puts a Hold on Its Self-Driving Truck Project

Uber has decided to scrap its self-driving truck development and move employees from the division to its self-driving car development.

Uber announced it would focus on it’s autonomous car technology from now on.

About 2 years ago Uber acquired Otto, the self driving truck start-up and has since been secretly moving freight in Arizona via Uber’s Freight Service.

The company intended to use self-driving trucks to complete the highway leg of a journey while human drivers would drive the rest of the way.
