A pilot training program has been launched to propel women into the road freight industry. The first group of students in the program – Women Driving Transport Careers (WDTC) began training recently consisting of 8 female students who are on the road to getting their truck drivers’ licence.

The demand for education for women in this field is high, according to TWAL chief executive Jacqueline Brotherton, who are offering the program in conjunction with Wodonga TAFE’s transport division DECA, Volvo Group Australia.
