Electric Waste Truck The First in Australia

WM Waste Management Services have the first electric waste truck in Australia – the first main-line waste truck powered exclusively by electricity.

The truck is being put to work for the City of Casey in the south-east of Melbourne.

The truck has a 2 stage body designed with a cage for whitegoods as well as for the usual pick-up.

The vehicle – ACCO EV is a joint project between the manufacturer Superior Pak and SEA Electric, the drive-train manufacturer. The vehicle battery charging time goes from flat to fully charged in approximately 8 hours.
It has a 22kW onboard charger which allows the truck to be plugged in and charged from any 3 phase power supply. The truck’s batteries allow the vehicle to run for approximately 250km at 23.5 tonne gross vehicle mass. The speed is limited to 100km/h.

The truck is available to order directly from Superior Pak. See more https://thewest.com.au/lifestyle/motoring/electric-waste-truck-is-an-aussie-first-ng-b88970174z.
