Charges Dropped Against Driver Involved in Crash that Killed 2

The charges against the truck driver accused of driving dangerously causing a horror crash at the start of Adelaide’s South Eastern Freeway has been dropped.

The incident occurred 4 years ago in 2014 and claimed 2 lives.

The 33 year driver was charged with causing death and serious harm by dangerous driving in August 2014 when the sewage truck he was driving ploughed into 3 cars. In addition to the 2 people killed, the driver himself was badly injured.

The prosecutor told the court they could not continue with the case and the trial date could be vacated.

Comcare, the Federal safety regulator  has launched legal proceedings against the owner of the truck Cleanaway Operations.
