VTA Addresses Industry Issues at This Year’s State Conference

NSW Launches Transport Industry

The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) has stressed the importance for transport operators to understand industry changes and reforms, and how they will affect businesses, which was the focus of its recent state conference in March.

The VTA’s event program was themed ‘Keep up with transport reform’. One of the issues on the table was the effect of recent infrastructure projects, how to reduce risk around law and punishment, key reforms in the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), licensing and road-user charges, industrial relations, vehicle standards and equipment, safety and technology.

The conference featured more than 35 high profile speakers with representation from the federal and state government and opposition, industry regulators, road and transport authorities, trades unions and suppliers to the industry. The aim of the conference was to assist operators make sense of the changing transport industry.
