The federal and Western Australian governments have committed to funding the upgrade of 3 sections of the WA Muchea to Wubin corridor.
It’s a road stretching about 37.6km, which the government has pledged $131.68million to revamp. This forms part of the larger $344.75million plan to improve the freight movement north of Perth.
The improvements will include the widening of the road and building new overtaking lanes, bypasses and implementing various other realignments.
These improvements are aimed at improving traffic safety and efficiency particularly for freight operators and separating cars and trucks.
The upgrades are scheduled to begin next year and are expected to be completed by mid-2019.
