According to the West Gate Tunnel Environmental Report released recently by Victorian planning minister Richard Wynne, the 24 hour truck bans in the inner west would be extended. The aim of the project is to reduce congestion and travel times by taking 9,300 trucks off residential roads. The report says once the project is operational, tolling will be implemented.
