A fatal accident has taken place in Melbourne’s east, claiming the life of a pedestrian who was struck by a truck crossing an intersection. The woman died at a busy Melbourne intersection. A red walking frame was apparently left next to the woman’s body which was left in the middle of the intersection, covered with a blanket. The road remained closed in both directions and police urged motorists to use alternative routes. Witnesses described hearing a loud bang before seeing the woman lying on the ground. They covered the body and were reportedly “very shocked” by the whole incident. One witness said the crossing was normally safe with a long time to cross.
