Double fatality at Dingley Village. A devastating accident has occurred in Dingley Village, Melbourne resulting in the death of 2 motorists. A motor cycle driver and a pillion passenger have lost their lives in an incident involving the motorcycle and a truck which collided. The truck was turning when the motorcyclist hit into it, killing both victims at the scene according to reports. Although uninjured the truckie was disturbed and understandably shaken by the incident. Police have urged motorists to, “take care, slow down and be aware of their surroundings” Although incidents like these cause massive damage, costs and inconvenience on other motorists the biggest cost is in the form of lives unnecessarily lost. Sadly both victims were in their twenties with their entire lives ahead of them. Although it is unknown how the accident actually occurred, for car drivers it is best that they avoid driving alongside a truck when it is making a turn because a truck driver may not be able to see you. For truck drivers be cautious when making a turn, in either direction because your visibility may be reduced depending on whether you’re turn left or right, you may not see a car driving alongside you and a small vehicle doesn’t stand a chance against the size and power of a big truck, the result can be deadly.
