The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has started rolling out a new Customer Portal for access permits – AccessCONNECT. The NHVR claims it already has hundreds of heavy vehicle operators trialling the new system as part of the staged rollout. Over 300 customers are currently submitting permit requests online and the system has already been used to process 15 per cent of the total NHVR applications.
