Another Bad Example for Vehicle Compliance

An operator who was in the news alot last year because of non-compliance issues has once again landed in hot water after drug affected drivers were detected at a major distribution centre belonging to the group.

The RMS have demanded the company reform its problematic policies and improve its approach to heavy vehicle safety.

RMS, together with NSW Police found defective trucks and drivers on drugs during a joint compliance blitz at a large retailers major distribution centre at Eastern Creek, west of Sydney.

Authorities found one driver under the influence of cannibis and another had both cannibis and  methamphetamine in his system.

The company’s fleet was also issued with 62 defect notices for faults including tyre issues, oil and fuel leaks.
