Failure to Stop at Crash Gets Truck Driver Charged

The perfect example of what not to do when involved in a road crash was displayed by one Victorian truck driver in a crash earlier this month. The man was charged by police after he fled the scene of a crash involving his truck and a 4wheel drive vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was killed, he was just 26 years old. The teenage passenger was also seriously injured. Due to the extent of the fire that erupted following the crash, police presumed the driver was killed and his body incinerated in the blaze but the following day a farmer discovered the driver in his shed, suffering from burns. The irresponsible truck driver was subsequently charged with failure to stop and failing to render assistance at the scene.
