NTC Report Reveals SA Most Criticised on HVNL Alterations

The National Transport Commission (NTC) says the 2011 regulatory reform effort that created the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) will not be complete for 18 months, but everything else on the agenda has been accomplished.

The above revelation is one of the headline findings of the NTC’s annual National Transport Reform Implementation Report to the Transport and Infrastructure Council. The council’s purpose is to independently assess how well nationally agreed upon transport reforms are being implemented.

NTC Chief Executive Paul Retter explained that the reforms are aimed at a more consistent and simple understanding of laws and regulation, which will help to improve productivity nationally and keep people safe on the road. He also reminded us that WA and The NT are still outside of the otherwise national system.
