A truck driver has been caught speeding on a notoriously steep descent at Warringah Road in Dee Why just days after another truck driver was jailed for a minimum of 3 years for a horrific crash in 2014.
Police slammed the latest driver behaviour as “”disgraceful”, with the driver caught doing 70km/h down Warringah Road, where the truck speed limit is 20km/h.
The 2014 crash resulted in 6 people being injured, including 2 off-duty police officers.
This time the truck was caught speeding and overtaking cars as it sped down the hill. A police car was beside the road and officers immediately followed the truck and signalled the driver to pull over.
He was charged and his driver’s license was immediately suspended.
Police say it is shocking that any motorist, and in particular a truck driver would speed down that hill.
