A compliance operation between NSW Police and Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) targeting truck and dog combinations was conducted on February 1st. A number of issues were identified with 1 driver being caught for breaches and a number of vehicles identified with breaches.
The operation was conducted within the Penrith areas and a substantial number of weight breaches were identified including one combination having a minor weight breach. During the operation only 10 combinations were inspected.
Inspectors issued 3 major defect notices for problems such as seatbelts, air leaks and lighting and 3 minor defects for miscellaneous issues.
One heavy vehicle driver, an interstate licence holder was charged for driving with revoked NSW privileges. He is scheduled to appear in court soon.
