Woman Killed in Truck and Car Crash in South Australia’s Riverland

A mother has died following a fatal crash in South Australia’s Riverland.

Police were called to the intersection of the Sturt Highway and the old Sturt Highway near Barmera after a B-Double truck collided with a car just before 7.30pm.

Her two children, a 12-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl received minor injuries and were taken to the Berri Hospital to be medically assessed. The driver of the B-Double was not injured.

The intersection of the Sturt Highway and the Old Sturt Highway near Barmera was closed for several hours while Major Crash Investigators attended the scene. The roads have since been reopened.

The woman’s death takes the State’s road toll to 28, compared to 17 the same time last year.
