The high number of over length vehicles getting stuck at Galston Gorge has become a major concern, with one truck driver blaming RMS.
The local truck driver, who is a former heavy vehicle assessor, Brad Greenrod said the licencing process for a Heavy Rigid Licence was to blame for the number of incidents at Galston Gorge.
He said the fact that it takes just 6 hours to get a Heavy Rigid class licence, which is the mandated minimum requirement of the RMS, was to blame.
He questioned how a person with just 6 hours of experience could be educated enough to know that their vehicle might be classified as over-length for Galston Gorge.
He also highlighted the importance of training for truck drivers.
