A truck driver was injured after he deliberately crashed his truck on Adelaide’s South Eastern freeway.
The truck lost control, it is believed after the brakes failed, causing the driver to deliberately crash the truck into the side of the road.
The truck driver was unable to pull into one of the arrester beds on the freeway designed to slow down trucks because there was already another truck in it. The 55 year old driver was then forced to run the truck off the freeway to avoid hitting into cars.
The truck came to rest back on its wheels, after flipping.
The driver was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he is in a stable condition.
The site is the same one at which another truck crash occurred only a few months ago.
It is believed the turn off is directly before a safety camera, which may be causing drivers to turn off quickly to avoid being caught speeding on camera.
