NatRoad and Paccar Tackle Driver Shortages

NatRoad and Paccar are tackling the looming driver shortage with the introduction of the ‘Future Ready’ program which it announced at the last NatRoad Annual Conference. With the average age of drivers being 53 and insurance issues for drivers under the age of 25 deterring young people from the industry, NatRoad believes the program will help reach a lasting solution for the problem. This is important given that road freight is expected to double by 2030. The project, in addition to drawing young people to the sector, will also diversify the workforce, NatRoad says.
