Rail Back on Track – a Queensland transport lobby group wants truck drivers who drive their oversized truck under a bridge that it won’t fit under more than once to be banned for life from holding a licence. Robert Dow from the group said offenders should lose their licences for up to 6 months after a first offence and a lifetime driving ban for second time offenders. He made the call following bridge strikes in Buranda, Dutton Park in Brisbane and Indooroopilly.
