A rival to Tesla’s electric truck has been unveiled by Daimler in the form of the new fully-eletric Freightliner commercial truck.
The company is expanding it’s fleet of electric vehicles with the Freightliner truck joining the Mercedes, FUSO and Thomas Built Brands.
Freightliner is expected to deliver 30 electric trucks to customers to be tested in the real world, ranging between medium duty and heavy duty trucks. Other buyers won’t be able to get their hands on the truck just yet, Daimler hasn’t priced the vehicle and wont begin production until 2021 at the earliest.
Tesla is also having some issues with production because their electric truck is too large to be constructed at any of their current facilities. Finding a place to manufacture and build the truck will likely take some time.
