ALRTA Calls for Focus on CoR for Livestock Transportation

The Australian Livestock and Rural Transporters Association (ALRTA) has urged transport regulators to get more serious about the application of CoR to “livestock preparation”, a post on OwnerDriver.com.au explains. A Queensland Parliamentary Transport and Utilities Committee report was recently released, advising the state’s transport minister to address Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) issues with other Commonwealth and state ministers. The report stated that ministers should ask the National Transport Commission (NTC) to consider within the next 12 months making the issue more transparent and more comprehensible. ALRTA president Kevin Keenan said governments should either make the COR provisions clearer and more effective, or just exempt effluent from the HVNL load restraint provisions altogether.
