Transport Industry Condemns RSRT’s Decision

Transport bodies including the ATA and NatRoad have voiced their opposition to the decision by the Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal (RSRT) to not delay the commencement date of the minimum rates order. The Contractor Driver Minimum Payments Road Safety Remuneration Order 2016 (RSRO) came into effect recently, despite transport bodies expecting it to be delayed until October. The verdict was a shock to members of the transport industry because the tribunal appears to have ignored the requests put forth by operators during the submissions period.
